About Your Local Honey

All of our colonies are never fully harvested of their honey during the season, this ensures that they have sufficient food stores to overwinter. During the winter months the level of stores are monitored and where required the colony is fed ensure that thrive through to spring.
Since 2012, DBKA has been situated in the Old Bowling Green in the Denes, where our bees produce exceptional wild flower honey from the rich variety of plants and flowers in the Darlington area.
With our members also selling their locally produced honey you are able benefit from the different plant varieties
that the honey bees have had access to in the local area. This produces different flavours and colours throughout the season.
By purchasing our honey, you are enabling us to maintain the honey bee colonies that are needed for pollination. In addition, supporting our mission to provide excellent facilities and resources for training aspiring beekeepers, thus helping to keep this age old tradition thriving in the local community by allowing local bee keepers to develop and hone their bee keeping skills.
